Long Band or Cross Band?
The key difference between cross band and long band plywood lies in the orientation of the veneer layers:
Cross Band Plywood: The wood veneers are arranged with their grains running perpendicular to each other in alternating layers. This construction increases the plywood's strength and stability, reducing the likelihood of warping.
Long Band Plywood: The wood veneers are arranged with their grains running in the same direction, parallel to each other. This results in plywood that is less stable but can be more flexible in certain applications.
