What are MicroPanels?

For those familiar with our Laserply products, MicroPanel will feel familiar. This versatile range takes a handful of our most popular Veneered MDF sheets and adapts them to work cleanly with laser cutting machines. Regular Veneered MDF sheets have a much harder time cutting with a laser, so we've engineered a brand new product that complements our huge collection of Laser Plywood.

Each MicroPanel product comes without any core gaps. This allows for a smoother cutting experience, as core gaps can create air bubbles during the laser cutting process, leading to cracks in the wood causing serious problems. Similarly, the density of each sheet has been carefully calibrated in the same way as our Laserply range.

MDF Applications

Standard MDF is primarily used for interior work, while Moisture Resistant MDF can be used for some exterior applications as well as in moisture prone areas like kitchens, laundries and bathrooms.

MDF is able to be easily painted, cut, machined and cleanly drilled without splintering or chipping. These qualities mean MDF is great for applications like shop fitting or cabinet making.

MicroPanel Applications

Due to the natural versatility of products that can take advantage of a laser cutter, MicroPanel sheets share many of the same applications with our Laserply range.

Anything from jewellery, signage, 3D models, or even handbags can be constructed from this incredible product. The benefits of laser cutting means you can create shapes and projects that other timber products aren’t physically capable of.
